4 Stars - Sam kim, Wine Orbit

"Brightly fruited and fragrant, the elegantly expressed bouquet shows ripe cherry, cranberry, mixed spice and toasted nut characters. The palate displays gentle weight and smooth mouthfeel, well supported by plenty of fine-grained tannins. An attractive middle-weight red that will go very nicely with savoury dishes. At its best: now to 2022."

Bargain Hawkes Bay Red?! Say What!

The Gimblett Gravels area has proven itself to be one of New Zealand’s prized grape growing districts. Malbecs perform very well in this part of the country.

Drinking beautifully now this 2017 Malbec, shows Bright red fruits, ripe cherry, cranberry and spice can be found on the nose whilst the palate is smooth and elegant with plenty of very fine grained tannins giving a nice length on the finish.

"Our site has a little more top soil than most of the gravels which we believe give our wines a distinct volume and richness. 100% estate fruit spent 1 month on the skins. It was then hand plunged and pumped throughout and pressed into French oak of which 25% is new wood"
