"
It's splendidly ripe and elegantly complex, showing dark berry, thyme, dried mushroom and toasted nut aromas, leading to a silky-smooth palate that's succulent and fleshy. Wonderfully rounded and flavoursome with a lingering velvety finish. At its best: now to 2027." Sam Kim

Double Gold - New Zealand International Wine Show (2020 Vintage)

The Matahiwi vineyard is situated on an alluvial boulder ridge in the Masterton district of Wairarapa. With warm free draining soils and the cool dry local climate this is an ideal place to grow Pinot noir. This Wairarapa Pinot Noir combines lifted aromas of dark fruit and with a slight hint of earthiness. The palate full of cherry fruit, spice and soft tannins. Enjoy with winter stew or some beautiful Lamb.

The Fruit was harvested by each clone and fermented in open top fermenters. A combination of plunge and pump over techniques ensured optimum flavour extraction. After ferment the wines were aged for around 10 months, before blending and bottling.
