Bulletin Place wines have long been a favourite here at Winesale. New vintage no exception. Made by Calabria Estate showcasing the true traits of Australian Shiraz.

Bulletin Place is inspired by the historic building site, located along the famous Sydney harbor. Built in 1816, later becoming one of Sydney's best known wine houses.

Bulletin Place Shiraz has a well rounded palate with rich fruit flavors of dark cherries, boysenberry and ripe plum. Juicy acidity is balanced with refined tannin to provide length and a rewarding finish  Enjoy with; roasted pork belly or spaghetti bolognese.

Made by the Calabria family who have a 75 year history of growing and producing wine.

" Bulletin Place Merlot showcases an intense bouquet of ripe cherry, plums and dried herbs. A flavoursome palate of sweet overtones. This is a delightful, medium weight wine which finishes long with soft, firm tannins."

Carrick (Central Otago) 2019 Excelsior Pinot Noir

Only 300 cases made in the best years, this is an intensely rich wine that will cellar until at least 2020 and drinking will give rewarding ongoing pleasure. Named for the coal seam which was mined during the goldrush and lies beneath the Carrick Vineyards thier finest expression of Pinot Noir. The wine is aged in barrel for 18 months, then bottled without fining. It is contemplative, earthy, and powerful.

In this deep garnet red wine, reflections of purple dance. A bouquet of cherries, blueberries, sweet spices, vanilla, and chocolate fills the glass. The palate begins with a fresh start, followed by impressions of cocoa powder, herbs, and sweet mocha. Its silky tannins contribute to an elegant and straightforward experience, while a lingering finish carries hints of herbs. A true testament to the Garnacha grape, this wine serves as a tribute to Raíces Ibéricas.

Excellent wine to serve with lamb, duck breast with cherry sauce, ossobuco, grilled white meat or hard cheeses.

Ca’di Ponti (Sicily Italy) DOC 2021 Nero d’Avola

A deeply coloured, full-flavoured red with aromas of wild plum and black cherry. The palate combines abundant brambly fruit flavours with lightly spicy and savoury notes, a hint of bitter chocolate and chewy, ripe tannins.

Drink with juicy home-made burgers with a slab of mozarella, or charred lamb steak

The fruit is right up front in this ripe, full wine. With fine tannins and a rich texture, it is spicy, toasty and packed with blackberry fruits. Acidity shows strongly at the end. Along with the tannins. Pure Merlot has produced this powerfully rich wine. Tannins and dark black-plum flavors are still nudging each other for balance. As it develops this wine will be densely textured and rich with fruit and texture.

Cassis aromatics with great purity, will certainly reward cellaring but already delicious!

From Hawkes Bay Red extraordinaires at Clearview Estate 

This plummy,round smooth wine with a dry and reasonably complex back palate is well worth a good lamb roast.

Easy does it merlot, from a great producer, consistent, rounded and soft.

"The vibrant blueberry and floral notes of Te Awanga Syrah are combined here with the power and structure of SH50 Syrah to produce an eminently drinkable synergy." 
Sweetly fragrant on the nose showing dark plum, raspeberry, vanilla and warm spice notes. A spicy but succulent style a fine example of Hawkes Bay Syrah.

"Our vineyards are located on Tasmania’s East Coast and in the Tamar Valley in the north of the state. The 2020 saw a cool season with very low yields of high quality Pinot Noir for table wine. The fruit was harvested at moderate potential alcohol yet with full flavour and ripeness. A versatile food wine that can be enjoyed with light or heavy dishes. Try this with pan fried duck breast and roasted Mediterranean vegetables. Or serve it with venison that is drizzled in a red wine and black pepper jus"

Approacable plummy forrest fruit, a touch of savoury complexity and satisfying finish.

Devils Staircase (Otago) 2023 Pinot Noir

"Sourced from several Central Otago vineyards, the Devil's Staircase Pinot Noir takes the willing down into the realm of decadence and Bacchanalian delights. Vinification: 18-25 days on skins. Rapid warm ferments, matured in tank to retain bright fruit. No oak influence.
Sensual with lashings of dark fruit, sinfully succulent and devilishly good. Aromas of black Doris plums, blueberries and dark cherries. A very fruity, rich and supple palate with long smooth finish and soft tannins."

The Chanar Punco is a special wine from El Esteco, named after the tiny site high up in the Calchaqui valley. A Field-blend. The grapes are selected, regardless their variety, with a view to capturing the nature of the few vineyards growing on the unusual terroir above 2,400 meters (7,800 feet) high. Chañar Punco is the gem of our terroirs.

Rich, dark violet in color with a nose of dark chocolate, berry, plum and herb. Explosively rich on the palate with long, structured tannins.

El Esteco (Argentina) 2022 Estate Malbec

There are few places on earth where magic really happens and the Calchaqui Valley, home of El Esteco Winery, is certainly one of them. El Esteco today has nearly 1,000 acres of vineyards producing unique, yet world recognised, stunning wines.

Fruit from vineyards throughout the Estate goes into this, the Estate wine. French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined. Then is kept at the winery for a further 6 months before release. 

Aromas of super ripe berries, Raisins, Coffee and a herbaceous edge. Mature and vibrant tannins and a palate packed full of dark fruits, Long-lasting and elegant finish.

This wine just oozes quality....ageing potential up to 10years from vintage.

Familia Valdelana (Rioja) 2018 Reserva

Here at winesale we have been importing Bodegas Valdelana wines from Rioja for a number of years. A family owned and operated estate now in its fifth generation. Riddled with history, the estate boasts spectacular underground cellars dating from the 15th century.

95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano. The grapes, from vines over 60 years old planted in chalky-clay soils, are vinified with the same methods the estate has traditionally used since the 1500's. Twenty-four months spent aging in French and American oak round off the finished wine. Cherry colour and delicate transparency. Aromas of earth, dark fruit, chocolate and fine spices. Smooth and fine tannins envelop the palate, displaying plum, tobacco leaves, and a touch of liqueur. Lively fruitiness and woody undertones.

Best enjoyed around 16ºC Serve with Spanish stews, or other mediteranean dishes.

Familia Valdelana (Rioja) 2021 Crianza

Here at winesale we have been importing Bodegas Valdelana wines from Rioja for a number of years. We are ever impressed with the clean and modern style of wines from this classic region. Blown away with the ever astonishing prices.... Valdelana is located in the village of Elciego,  in the region known as Rioja Alavesa. A family owned and operated estate now in its fith generation. Riddled with history, the estate boasts spectacular underground cellars dating from the 15th century.

Deep cherry-red colour; clean and bright. Fruity on the nose, with some balsamic notes and some oak in the background. Blueberries and wild blackberries integrated with oaky notes vanilla or cinnamon. Fruit and oak perfectly blended on the palate; powerful and elegant wine. Long and intense aftertaste.

Vines of over 40 years grown in chalk, clay soils. Crianza wines are aged for 12 months, using French oak barrels (50%) and American oak barrels (50%)

Valdelana Tinto is produced mainly from Tempranillo (95%) and a small percent of Viura (5%). The Tempranillo vines are over 35 years old. The Tinto is a young and fresh style of Rioja, produced by the winery Valdelana in the D.O Rioja.

Deep cherry-red, with light purple hues. High aromatic intensity, with prevailing notes of red fruit, strawberries; aromas of black fruit, wild blackberries, raspberries, redcurrants. Well-balanced in the mouth, with a powerful and greedy entrance. Long finish of fresh red fruit at the end. Amazing value Rioja, Spains No1 region.
